Patrick is in the lead for favorite groom of 2018 because he gifted me a pencil cactus at their engagement session when I was visiting Florida AND after their wedding Sarah handed me a thank you gift bag that had a cute Florida mug and a hand drawn plant thank you card!!!! I'm not saying you gotta gift me plants, and 'I don't have favorite couples'...but I do, haha! There has been a big shift and what we have seen for years and I foresee more weddings becoming this chill, Sarah and Patricks wedding is trendy right now.! They had no wedding party (which is popular right now) but still had some friends dress up in their wedding colors, it really is genius to have your friends and family match your wedding colors (from a design perspective) because your album will flow so well together. They had very few formalities, there was dinner and toasts and everything else was just hanging out with their loved ones, having real conversations, enjoying drinks and so much dancing. I could tell at their engagement session that it would be effortless to capture their love in photographs, they light up when they embrace each other, they laugh with pure joy, they show so much respect for each other in just the way they interact and it's incredible to be in the presence of that. A lot of people tell me I am so calm and relaxed on weddings days and I am probably because I am in work mode but I am also very much a people watcher, I observe how people interact with each other (in a non=creepy way I'd like to think) and I really think that helps when I capture weddings days, that's probably why I laugh and cry while I edit, which I 100% did while editing their wedding. I follow most of my brides on Instagram...I get a peek into their daily life, a peek at their family life, a peek at their relationship and it makes for an even better day because I feel like I know them so well before I even meet them! Corinne (second photographer) and I love them so much we want to come visit them in Florida and just hang out haha!
