I met Deborah a few years ago at her neices birthday party. We connected through her friend Jen of Infatuating Affairs (who are some of my favorite ladies to work with!) and I was so excited when she reached out to me about their engagement photos a year ago and then again when they chose a wedding date! The day started by getting ready in the most glorious sun room at the front of the mansion, seriously, this is the most perfect and gorgeous getting ready space I have EVER photographed in and I have been to well over 100 weddings. Deborah and Bereket were greeted with all of their family during an Ethiopian tradition where the groom picks up the bride. They chose to all of their family and wedding party portraits before the ceremony which I think is a great way to get double the formal portraits because we did photos after the ceremony as well! The Orthodox ceremony was one of my favorite parts of the day, it is rare to have an officiant explain why they do what they do during ceremonies so I definitely enjoyed being educated and felt more connected. After the ceremony Deborah and Bereket got back into the vintage Rolls Royce to head back to the mansion for party time! With a guest count of around 400 people they had a massive tent for the reception and long communal style tables that I adore so much. I am actually obsessed with communal style table, it's a great way to save on space in my opinion, they look amazing and it's more intimate. The dance floor was insane, the music was so good and almost everyone in the tent was up and moving! I am so so so happy for these two and have loved being able to capture the best moments of their life!
